I chose to buy the work of Janice Liley because I immediately loved her vibrant, emotional colours. I’m drawn to her larger pieces, in particular, with their bold composition, sweeping, powerful brush strokes and depth of colour. I changed the colour of my sitting room to host her vibrant palette. Every morning I see this work and I smile, it lifts me. I feel lucky to own a Janice Liley...The delivery to London from Australia was no issue, she shipped in a poster tube, and it arrived swiftly.

The first Janice Liley painting that I acquired was, to a degree, a reflection of where I stood as a collector: slightly naive, beautiful in its simplicity, and very moving in terms of the emotion generated. Since that initial purchase, I have followed Janice as an artist and continued to collect her work, and I have similarly grown in my appreciation of her artwork and her journey as an artist.
The painting I have selected is not the most recent, but one that has continued to fascinate me. It is almost reminiscent of some of the most modernistic and evocative works of Emily Kam Kngwarry, influenced by the harsh, dry, and intricate MacDonald ranges with their incredible range of colour, but also with softness and femininity in the patterns conveyed.
Definitely an artist to watch, Janice continues to challenge her perception and depiction of the world around her and to evolve as an artist. I look forward to her next exhibition and to her future works

I discovered Janice Liley’s paintings over a decade ago whilst living and working in London as an interior designer. Liley, a classically trained artist, has evolved as a painter and confidently moved into more abstract and color field oeuvres. I now own and enjoy many of her works. Although the artist now resides in Sydney, Australia, the shipping to New York City, where I now live, was efficient and seamless.
